BEACHES SANDY BAY

After 12 years of successful partnership, Sandals Resorts International (SRI) has taken the option to terminate its lease with the owners of the Property now known as Beaches Sandy Bay Resort effective 30^th September 2012.

As part of our Luxury Included® concept and strategy, we continually strive to improve our products for our guests. The past few months have seen exciting enhancements and large scale renovation projects undertaken at several of our resorts across the Caribbean, all part of an investment plan to expand and enhance the company’s offerings over the coming decade. However, despite the successes of Beaches Sandy Bay, the resort no longer fits the long term strategy and vision of our organization and we will look to pursue other exciting opportunities elsewhere. 

As part of our unwavering commitment to both our guests and the property's workforce, SRI has reached mutual agreement with the owners of the hotel to maintain full operations through to 31st August 2012 in order to accommodate existing bookings.  Guests scheduled to stay at Beaches Sandy Bay after 31st August will have the option to change their booking to any like accommodation at another Beaches Resort in Jamaica without penalty or change fees.

In the traditional spirit of Sandals and Beaches resorts, members of the existing workforce will be relocated to sister properties based on availability. In the event that suitable positions are not available we will abide by all legal requirements as we ensure the most amicable separation is affected.  

We are reliably informed by the owners of the property, Poincianna Resorts Limited that it is their intention to resume the day to day running of the hotel immediately upon our departure.

We wish to especially thank Dr. Garfield Munroe, Principal of Poincianna Resorts Limited, his family and management team for their unwavering support of Sandals Resorts International, particularly for the strength of the friendship and professional relationship during what must be counted as 12 fantastic years of working with them.  We wish them all the best in their future endeavours.

  Sandals Resorts is thrilled to announce the reopening of the newly-renamed Balmoral Tower at Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort & Offshore Island.  

After undergoing recent renovations, the Balmoral Tower now features a lighter, contemporary look and even more luxury.  This $17 million upgrade helps maintain Sandals Resorts’ high end Luxury Included® standard, providing guests with the highest-quality amenities and ensuring that they have the best possible experience.  

The rooms and suites in the Balmoral Tower now boast travertine-style oversized rectangle tiling instead of carpet, mahogany entertainment units with a 42 inch plasma television, a bar area and refrigerator, neutral draperies with open-weave sheers, and gorgeous large-scale area rugs featuring teal, charcoal and amber accents.  

The renovated bathrooms include contemporary stained mahogany his and her vanities with Carrera marble tops, backlit mirrors, and showers that feature white beveled subway tiles with blue, cream and amber glass accent tiles .  

The most exciting feature is sure to be the large balconies that were added to 35 of the ocean view rooms.  

An additional 11 ground-floor rooms have now become walk-out rooms, providing direct access onto the newly-finished white concrete pool deck, which incorporates local fauna and conch shells.  Beachfront fire pits and an expanded lounge area complete the Balmoral Tower’s new look.

Sandals Emerald Bay

This is not a nude resort, but for luxury and fantastic golf it can not be beat!

Sandals Emerald Bay, Great Exuma, Bahamas and the Sandals Emerald Reef Golf Club were chosen as the next location for the Golf Channel's highly popular television series, Big Break. The entire 13th season of the show was filmed on location at our newest resort and golf club and will be branded as "Big Break SANDALS RESORTS." The Golf Channel has just announced the all-female cast and started running teasers this past week to promote Big Break SANDALS RESORTS. This is an amazing opportunity to showcase our newest property Sandals Emerald Bay, and will also help us place the Sandals Emerald Reef Golf Club on the map with destination golfers.
